Fiction, teenage romance by Eve Bennett  517gkr7wqpl__sx294_bo1204203200_

Sticks and stones….. This is the story of how vicious gossip can affect the life of an innocent girl.

When Mary Munday and Andy Bremer were stranded in the mountains all night, they were seen arriving home at dawn by a vicious neighbor. Nothing had happened to set tongues wagging but suddenly Mary’s schoolmates and ever her best friends were forbidden to see her.  But Mary had her father’s trust, and she relied on Andy to boost her courage.  Together they could face the scandal bravely.

Then, because of weak character, Andy failed her, and she is hurt and humiliated even more. A relationship that had been full of first love and moonlight became a bitter thing.  In a few scant days, Mary had lost her love, her friends and her reputation.  The thought of returning to classes was terrifying and though there was only another month to graduation, she quit school.

Mary faced great difficulty in trying to solve her problems…all by herself – away from school and family.

In time, Mary discovered that problems are never solved by running away and one has to grow up to real love. This is an engrossing, sensitive story.
